Be perfectly prepped if you’re considering grammar school.
If grammar school is something you’ve always considered or a path you’ve always wanted your child to take, the 11+ exam is where it begins. We’ll make sure your child is confident and familiar with the 11+ exam format and has all of the skills necessary to get into grammar school.
The 11+ exam focuses on 4 key areas and Maths is where I can really add value. Although the Maths section of the 11+ exam is covered in the national curriculum, it doesn’t harm to brush up on any areas that your child might not be so strong at. The 4 main areas of the 11+ exam include: English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
What is the 11+ exam format?
The 11+ exam can come in two different formats. You’ve got the Standard Format, which means students write their answers down on the exam paper. Or you have Multiple Choice exam papers, which as you guessed it, students answer by multiple choice.
In Warwickshire the 11+ exam is made up from two separate multiple choice exams that are sat one the same day with a small break in between.
How long does the 11+ exam take?
As expected the 11+ exam is timed and in Warwickshire the exam session lasts for approximately three hours with a short break halfway through.
To make sure students are prepared we will make sure that we’ve practiced the knowledge in a freestyle manner but also under time pressure so they know what to expect.
